President: Charlotte Senior
A bit about you and Opera?
Charlotte is a second year Biomedical Sciences student from London. She came to OpWa a little slowly, only properly joining the society at the end of term 2 of her first year, but has never looked back since! Her first production experience within the society was as the Producer for the 2015 Studio show, “The Merry Widow”, before going on to take part as a performer in “The Marriage of Figaro”. As well as this, Charlotte is a Choral Exhibitioner and singer with the University of Warwick Chamber Choir and a regular attendee of OpWa’s weekly Tutti sessions.
As President, Charlotte is in charge of the general organisation and smooth running of the society. Additionally, since she seems to be constantly in the Art Centre, she is always around to talk about any queries or even concerns you may have regarding the society or music at the University in general.
And which is your favourite?
At the moment (because this changes regularly!) my favourite opera is The Pearl Fishers by Bizet. Mainly because it’s one of the few where she doesn’t die… but also because it has some of the most beautiful music ever written!
Tell us something embarrassing.
I once completely decked it during a performance of Guys and Dolls at school, and had to sing my line from the floor…that was interesting…
